Wow. That's a really offensive, misogynistic icon you've got there.

You make a fair point, I didn't see the full sequence first time through ...

It's only mysogynic if you hate all women. Gwen Cooper is only one woman. There are alot of people who think, based on the character's actions, that that is what she is, so why can't they voice their opinion?

Sure. And when I see yet another example of women bashing because a female character is important to or close to a favored slash pairing and the form of the bashing always takes the shape of sexual comments on the character's supposed whorishness ... I think I can state that my opinion is that the example is misogynistic and offensive.

Is Ianto also a slag because he basically spent several months either being sexually available to Jack while lying to him or by flirting/otherwise pretending sexual availability to Jack while lying through his teeth to him about Lisa? Funny, everyone goes on about how tragic that is when Ianto's behavior is at least as ethically dubious as a woman having 1 affair with a man while dealing with a horribly traumatic job without any emotional support whatsover and is required to lie to her long term and loved partner.

So, yeah they can have their opinion, no, I'm not going to buy that it's just one person's 'opinion' and somehow not misogynistic because no one else is currently being held up to the regressive and women hating standards that many fans have for the women in canon shows.

The fact that she is close to a slash couple has nothing to do with disliking her. At least not for me. I find her incompetent, immature, unprofessional, among other things. I also don't like the fact that she had an affair and then retconned Rhys while she confessed the affair. If the character had been allowed to grow and to face consequences for her behavior I may have grown to like her. I liked Tosh. I liked Martha. I like a lot of strong women in shows. If I dislike one woman I am not a misogynist. If I dislike a man in a show, what does that make me?

And liking Ianto has nothing to do with liking or disliking Gwen. We did not have any of what you have accused him of on screen, if it was even happening. We did see Gwen get involved with Owen and her moments with Jack. I think there is a difference. But if I did dislike Ianto and said so would you be saying I was a misogynist?

I'll be going - have been to the first 3, but missed Hub 4 ... looking forward to this one, it will be quieter than any of the previous Hub's - but that's not a bad thing when it comes to gettting to spend time with the actors ... and Blue Gillespie are playing on Saturday night :-)

I have no axe to grind here but I do not think that icon has any place on a public forum, it is insulting.

I've changed my icon so people can stop crying about it. Please keep on topic.

I like your icon. I don't find it insulting at all.

As to the Hub, I live in the states so I can't go. I met GDL here last year. He's a sweet person.
