writing to the BBC
I tried to post this at torch_wood but so far it has neither been approved or rejected.
I would like to ask the people who did not like Miracle Day to write to the BBC and let them
know that you would like to see a return to "Classic Torchwood".  Perhaps a return to
Wales, return of old characters, alien of the week, all of the above?  Since Miracle Day
has not done well, this is the perfect time to let the BBC know that you didn't like all the
changes but that you would watch and support a Torchwood that returned to its roots.

The URL for the online BBC form is:

and the snail mail address is:

If you do write, please post here, I'd love to see if we can get a lot of people to write in.
It never hurts to ask and hey, you never know what might happen!!!

Gonna do this now! thanks for the info. Its incredible how a cool show can be utterly ruined and most people think that = dramatic tv... Oo?

Great, thanks!!!

Nice idea. BUT, been there, done that after COE. Was told to get over it because it was never going to happen.

After Miracle Day bombing so badly though (whereas CoE was considered a success) the BBC might be more willing to listen.

I doubt it. They don't seem to care much what the fans think. They seem to follow RTD's lead on that.

I don't know if they would listen to international fans but I'm willing to try and write them feedback in the online form.. thanks. I don't mind if they continue to do arcs (well, work on the plotting skills first, def not their forte), but they really need to bring back Ianto, he's sorely missed and Jack's no fun anymore.

Thanks!
They should listen to international fans since MD was international!

so, Here was the trite BBC response: figured you would get a laugh (or not) from it?

Dear Ms morejon

Thanks for contacting us regarding ‘Torchwood: Miracle Day’ on BBC One. I understand you were unhappy with this new series and felt it was of poor quality. ‘Torchwood’ has never stood still but has evolved and grown over three series and across three BBC channels. Series three, ‘Children of Earth’, saw the biggest change with the series of five episodes stripped across a week. Series four, ‘Torchwood: Miracle Day’, is a further creative evolution. The series creator’s vision takes the story to a new global level and the ‘Torchwood’ team to pastures new. It is exactly that element of surprise and risk taking which continues to make ‘Torchwood’ unique and exciting. On screen, the co-production with Starz has allowed for a much bigger series – in Wales as well as the US – with double the number of episodes this year and increased production values: helicopters, stunts and international stars such as Bill Pullman. We are confident that this series gives increased value to the UK audience. I’d like to assure you I've registered your complaint on our audience log. This is an internal report of audience feedback which we compile daily and is available for viewing by all our staff. This includes all programme makers and commissioning executives, along with our senior management. It ensures that your points, along with all other comments we receive, are circulated and considered across the BBC. Thanks again for taking the time to contact us. Kind regards BBC Audience Services www.bbc.co.uk/complaints NB This is sent from an outgoing account only which is not monitored. You cannot reply to this email address but if necessary please contact us via our webform quoting any case number we provided.

Kind Regards

Julie McBrien

That's close to what I got back a well. It's mostly a form letter but they do sometimes address specific things one writes.
Maybe you could write snail mail as well? Thanks for writing via the form though!

That sounds like a standard reply...
